August marks the beginning of the big year of changes for students. Juniors and seniors in high school are preparing for the SAT or ACT, working on applications, and learning about financial aid, first-time college students are navigating a new phase of their life, and seasoned college students are getting closer to graduation and planning career goals.

Are you getting ready to head to college in 2019? Enrolled in your first classes this semester? Nearing the end of your degree plan and graduation? Check out Learning Express Library!

Plano Public Library offers access to Learning Express Library which connects users with practice tests, career research, tips for success, and more. To access Learning Express Library, visit the library’s list of databases and click on “H-N.” Scroll until you find Learning Express Library and click on the logo. Enter your Plano Public Library card number. If this is the first time you are accessing Learning Express Library, you will need to register an account so you can save your progress on courses and practice tests. After logging on, you will see a screen with the different centers pictured. You can search for specific topics or browse the different centers. Try exploring these:

  • “I’M GOING TO COLLEGE NEXT YEAR!” – Explore the College Admissions & Test Preparation Center. Here you’ll find practice tests for the SAT, ACT and AP exams as well as a guide to writing a college admissions essay. Explore the College Success Skills Center for scholarship tools.
  • “I’M IN COLLEGE – HELP!” – Explore the College Success Skills Center for scholarship tools, tips on organizational strategies, navigating the classroom, researching, and more. The College Center Plus contains helpful reviews for math, reading, grammar, and science as well as test prep tools for college placement exams.
  • “I’M GRADUATING COLLEGE SOON – WHAT’S NEXT?” – Explore the Career Center Plus to find information about different careers, prep tools for entrance or occupation exams, and more.
