Financial Aid App at Your Fingertips

Are you a current or future college student applying for financial aid? You now have a new tool at your disposal. The U.S. Department of Education launched its first mobile app, myStudentAid, now available for download to iOS and Android devices. Students and parents can use the app to begin, complete and submit a new or renewal Free Application for Federal Student Aid (better known as FAFSA).

The FAFSA allows students to apply for federal student aid, such as grants, work-study and loans. Many institutions also use the FAFSA to determine eligibility for other forms of public and private aid.

myStudentAid users can also:

  • view federal student aid history using the myFederalLoans option;
  • contact Federal Student Aid centers to have questions answered; and
  • access¬†StudentAid.gov to locate information about the federal student aid programs, application process, and loan repayment options.

In addition to expanding options for all federal student aid applicants, the new app will reach users who may only have access to the Internet through mobile devices. The 2019-20 FAFSA became available on Oct. 1.
